Printing Method Options

We offer two types of card printing. UV print or retransfer print. Each has their own advantages and compromises.

UV Print

Pigment Ink

Drops pigment ink onto the card surface. Offers a tactile look and feel. There is no laminate option.

Retransfer Card Print

Dye Sublimation

Prints your artwork on the ribbon and uses heat to retransfer in the card. Laminate option for added durability.

Card Option Finishes

Laminated Finish

For Retransfer Card Print Only. Applies a laminate over the card. This extends the durability of the card.

Slot Punch

A 14x3mm slot is punched on the short or long side of the card after printing. This slot fits a lanyard with a bulldog clip.

Adhesive Back

We apply 3M adhesive on the non printed side of the card.

VCard

Multi touchpoint NFC Card

The type of NFC chip determines how many records are stored in a card. A record is any type of data such as a URL link, phone number and so on.

The NXP NTAG216 chip has the most memory capacity making it ideal for vCard or multirecord card.

The NTAG213 chip has the least memory capacity at only 144 bytes. It stores only a few records. This is suitable for single record only card such as Google review.

Android phones natively read more types of data and displays all of them after interacting with an NFC tags. iPhone only reads the first record. Model 8 and earlier require an app to read NFC cards.

Artwork Guidelines

Retransfer Card Print

  • Artwork Size: 86.5 x 55mm. This includes a 1mm bleed all around. Do not include printers or crop marks.
  • Actual Card size: 85.5x54mm
  • Safe printing space:  82.50 x 51.00mm. We recommend keeping important graphics and text within this space.
  • Scale: 1:1
  • Resolution: 300dpi
  • Colour Format: RGB or CMYK
  • File Formats: PNG, JPG  or TIFF. NO PDF or other formats accepted.

UV Card Print

  • Artwork Size: 88 x 56mm. This includes a 1mm bleed all around. Do not include printers or crop marks.
  • Actual Card size: 85.5x54mm
  • Safe printing space:  82.50 x 51.00mm. We recommend keeping important graphics and text within this space.
  • Scale: 1:1
  • Resolution: Minimum 300dpi
  • Colour Format: RGB or CMYK
  • File Formats: JPG, TIFF and PDF. NO PNG or other formats accepted.

Card Printing Variance

  • We work with a print variance of up to 1.0mm. This means your artwork may shift to the left, right, top or bottom when printed. Keep all important graphics and text in the recommended safe printing space. We recommend not using framing borders on the edges.
